Samuel J. Kaplan Joins Griffin Financial Group

BOSTON, MA, March 4, 2024 – Griffin Financial Group announced today that Samuel J. Kaplan has joined the firm as a Director, expanding Griffin’s investment banking practice in Boston.

Mr. Kaplan has more than a decade of experience advising privately held businesses and private equity portfolio companies on transactions including mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, corporate divestitures and evaluation of strategic alternatives. He has led and completed transactions across multiple industries including tech-enabled services, distribution, facilities services, human capital management, media and software.

Mr. Kaplan comes to Griffin from Guggenheim Securities, where he served as a Vice president and oversaw buy- and sell-side engagements for private equity funds. Prior to joining Guggenheim, Mr. Kaplan was a member of the investment banking team at Capstone Partners and began his M&A career providing financial due diligence at KPMG. Mr. Kaplan is a graduate of Yale University and received an MBA and MS in Accounting from Northeastern University. 

As a non-practicing CPA (Certified Public Accountant), Mr. Kaplan brings a unique perspective to the financial analysis of target opportunities. From initial due diligence to evaluations of projected financial, operations and earnings data that impact valuation, he provides insights that position transactions for success.
