Griffin Serves as Investment Banker to Alamon, Inc. in Divestiture of Alamon’s Utility Services Division to Osmose Utilities Services
Company Overview
Alamon, Inc. (Alamon or the Company) is an employee-owned technology solutions and infrastructure services provider founded in 1975 and headquartered in Kalispell, Montana. Alamon delivers skilled technical and deployment services to enterprise corporations, communications carriers, energy companies and electric utilities nationwide through multiple service lines: broadband deployment, DC power, energy services, enterprise technical services, network services, utility services and wireless services. Alamon’s Utility Services division is a full-service provider of wood pole inspection, treatment and reinforcement programs for electric utilities, cooperatives and municipalities. Operating under its “To Inspect and Preserve” mission and enabled by its proprietary software, Alatrac, the division inspected and serviced more than 500,000 poles in 2025 for over 90 clients across more than 30 states.
Situation
Alamon built its Utility Services division into a regionally scaled business with comprehensive pole service offerings, including inspection, reinforcement, fire mesh installation and proprietary field data delivery. Notwithstanding that success, the division remained non-core to Alamon’s strategy. Pole inspection and treatment served a distinct customer base of electric utilities and cooperatives, required a separate field labor and licensing model and operated on a geographic footprint largely independent of the Company’s other divisions. As the Company’s communications, network, wireless, DC power and energy service lines accelerated, management and the Board concluded that capital, management attention and field recruiting were better concentrated on those core platforms. Alamon therefore elected to pursue a divestiture with three priorities: securing full and fair value for its employee-owners, identifying a partner that would provide a strong, long-term home for Utility Services employees and placing the division with a strategic partner that had the scale, technician network and technical depth to continue delivering the quality-of-service Alamon’s utility clients had come to expect.
Solution
Alamon engaged Griffin as its exclusive investment banker to advise on the sale of its Utility Services division. Griffin helped navigate a partnership with Osmose Utilities Services (Osmose), a market-leading provider of structural asset management, assessment and restoration services to electric transmission, distribution and telecommunications companies and portfolio company of EQT Infrastructure. The combination pairs Alamon’s technical inspection expertise and regional client relationships with Osmose’s national field organization, giving the division’s employees and customers a long-term home within a dedicated utilities services platform while allowing Alamon to redeploy resources behind its core lines of business.
