Principals of Griffin Advise TJP

Company Overview

Founded in 1972 by Thomas J. Paul, TJP grew into one of the leading, independent, full-service, health care and consumer marketing communications firms in the country. TJP serves some of the largest and most sophisticated pharmaceutical and consumer products companies in the world including M&M Mars, Janssen, Pfizer, Teva, Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America and NS Pharma. TJP services include unique expertise in market access, with focus on payer marketing, access and affordability program design and implementation, and brand development and management.

Situation

After successfully managing and growing the company for many years, Jim Paul (one of Thomas’ sons) recognized the need to transition the business in such a way that not only preserved the family’s legacy, but also built on the tremendous brand equity and market awareness the company had achieved over its 50-year history. Simultaneously, Jim wanted to make sure he found the best partner that would continue the firm’s growth while maintaining the world class customer service orientation and family culture it had become known for, while ensuring stability and continued opportunity for its employees.

Solution

TJP undertook a focused process that allowed ownership to a gain a comprehensive understanding of the opportunities available for the company. Working closely with management, principals of Griffin prepared a compelling positioning statement and information memorandum that outlined the company’s history and current offerings, as well as future potential and opportunities for growth. After a rigorous due diligence process, Renovus Capital Partners emerged as being the ideal partner for TJP.
