Paul F. Delaney Joins Griffin, Heads Private Equity Placement Group

FLORHAM PARK, NJ, October 13, 2008 – Griffin Financial Group announced today that Paul F. Delaney has joined the firm as Senior Managing Director and will head its Private Equity Placement Group.

Mr. Delaney will be responsible for building Griffin’s private equity fund placement and advisory business, including the execution of fundraising assignments. He is also responsible for maintaining relationships with general partners and institutional limited partners, including public and corporate pension funds, endowments, foundations, consultants, advisors, financial institutions, insurance companies, fund of funds, family offices and other private equity investors.

Mr. Delaney brings nearly 30 years of senior management experience in private equity fund placement and investing, investment management and institutional sales. He has been actively involved in the origination and distribution of private equity funds and all stages of the fundraising process.

Mr. Delaney was most recently founder and CEO of Patronus Capital Advisors, a boutique private equity advisory and fund placement firm. He was also a Partner at Pomona Capital, a leading private equity secondary firm based in New York City, and a Managing Director and a founder of the Bear Stearns Private Funds Group, a placement agent dedicated to raising capital for small and mid-sized buyout, venture capital, mezzanine and special situations funds and other alternative investment managers.

Prior to joining Bear Stearns, Mr. Delaney had a 20-year career as an officer of MetLife Inc., one of the largest institutional investors by allocation to alternative assets. During his tenure at MetLife, he served as Director of Private Equity Portfolio Management, where he managed a team of professionals responsible for evaluating investment opportunities and committing new capital to U.S. and international private equity funds on behalf of the MetLife general account and pension plan. Mr. Delaney initiated MetLife’s membership in the Institutional Limited Partners Association and served on a number of limited partner advisory boards.

Mr. Delaney received a J.D. from New York Law School, an MBA from Adelphi University and a B.A. from Saint Michael’s College.
