Griffin Serves as Financial Advisor to LaserGrade, L.P.

LaserGrade is a computer-based testing company in Portland, Oregon. Three senior-level managers in the education testing market identified LaserGrade as an acquisition target. The managers did not work for LaserGrade, but had relevant experience with ETS and Sylvan.

The three managers hired Griffin to (i) negotiate and structure the acquisition terms with LaserGrade’s prior owner and (ii) raise the acquisition capital needed to fund the purchase.

Griffin negotiated a favorable purchase price and consideration structure for the three managers and raised the $5 million in private equity via an auction process. The managers ended up with a substantial equity interest in the “new” LaserGrade for a de minimis investment.
