Jeffrey P. Waldron to Lead Griffin’s Insurance Group

READING, PA, May 6, 2011 – Joe Harenza, CEO of Griffin Financial Group LLC, announced today that Jeffrey P. Waldron has been named Head of Griffin’s Insurance Group. In this position, he will be responsible for day-to-day management of the firm’s eight-person insurance industry investment banking practice.

“Jeff does a superior job advising his carrier and producer clients and I’m sure he will do an equally superior job for Griffin in this leadership capacity,” Harenza said.

With over 25 years in the financial services industry, Mr. Waldron provides investment banking services to insurance companies with particular emphasis on mutual companies. He has advised on over 100 transactions with a transaction value of over $10 billion.

He was instrumental in structuring the Pennsylvania Insurance Company Mutual-to-Stock Conversion Act and in negotiating key provisions with the Pennsylvania Insurance Department. Since enactment of this legislation, Pennsylvania has been one of the nation’s laboratories for new approaches to the demutualization of the insurance industry, where he remains an active participant in the process.

He was similarly involved in structuring Delaware’s recently passed demutualization legislation.

Mr. Waldron advises insurance carriers and distribution companies on capital formation and M&A activities. He also assists clients in the establishment of premium finance and life settlement structures. In addition, he is actively involved in the convergence between insurance and banking and between insurance and private equity sponsors.

Mr. Waldron received a B.A. from The University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from The Dickinson School of Law. He is a General Securities Principal.
